Inspiration: Textile Factories

Textiles, the photo series by Christopher Payne captures the amazing beauty of twenty-five of the last textile mills in New England, some more than a century old and one even dates back to the Civil War.

It is not only amazing that these mills still exist (but I'm glad they do!), it is also inspiring that we have a window into the past of this industry. Textile mills have played an important part of American manufacturing that is all but forgotten. Photos like this keep them alive, and hopefully inspire others to learn more about this rich history. Click here to see the complete series.
