Watch: Game of Thrones
Unless you avoid all things pop culture, it's been nearly impossible to miss all the Game of Thrones talk. As the seventh season wrapped, I had to make sure and mark my favorite moment of the season--when Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, walked out in this winter white fur coat to [spoiler] off to [spoiler] and [spoiler]. I literally gasped when I saw it. I've always been a sucker for a killer coat.
Here is a more in-depth interview with GoT costume designer, Michele Clapton. I love that all the women this season were rocking their own types of armor, and the symbolism behind many costume choices for particular characters.
The series as a whole is worth a re-watch just to observe the costumes and their evolutions. The Mad Queen herself, Cersei Lannister could warrant a whole thesis based on her wardrobe and the twists and turns of her character.
But for now, I will lust after this coat.
